Summary: Use Meridian Mail responsibly. Pay for Pro if you want Pro features. We provide the software "as is" and aren't liable for email mishaps.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Meridian Mail ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Application.

2. Description of Service

Meridian Mail is a desktop email client application for Windows that allows you to:

Connect to email accounts via IMAP/SMTP protocols
Send, receive, and organize emails
Use AI-powered features for email summarization and composition

3. License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Meridian Mail for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

Free Tier: You may use basic features at no cost with limited AI functionality (10 AI actions per day).

Pro Subscription: Paid subscriptions unlock additional features and higher AI usage limits as described on our pricing page.

4. Subscription and Payment

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through LemonSqueezy
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
Refunds are handled according to LemonSqueezy's refund policy
License keys are for your personal use and may not be shared or resold

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate email account credentials
Use the Application in compliance with all applicable laws
Not use the Application for spam, harassment, or illegal activities
Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the Application
Not share your license key with others

6. AI Features

AI features are provided for convenience and may not always produce accurate results. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before sending emails. We are not liable for any consequences arising from AI-generated content.

7. Privacy and Data

Your use of Meridian Mail is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Application, you consent to the collection and use of information as described therein.

8. Intellectual Property

Meridian Mail, including its code, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Application without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

We are not responsible for:

Loss of emails or data
Email delivery failures
Security breaches of your email accounts
Actions taken based on AI-generated content

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APPLICATION.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Application at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Application at any time by uninstalling it.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
