Gmail and Google Workspace OAuth for Windows

Meridian Mail includes Google OAuth support for Gmail and Google Workspace accounts, giving eligible users a cleaner sign-in path than manual server entry alone.

What this helps with

Why Gmail sign-in matters

Gmail is often the first account people want to test in a modern email client. When a Windows desktop app supports Google OAuth, setup can feel much more approachable than building the connection from raw server settings.

That makes the first-run experience better, especially for users coming from browser-based Gmail.

The honest qualification

Meridian Mail supports Google OAuth for Gmail and Google Workspace, but that does not mean public sign-in is automatically available for every user in every rollout stage. If the Google OAuth app is still in testing mode, only approved test users can use it until Google verification is complete.

That qualification should stay attached to this feature anywhere it is described publicly.

How it fits the broader product

Google OAuth is one connection path inside a broader Windows desktop email workflow. Meridian Mail also supports common provider settings for Outlook and other accounts through password or app-password flows where needed.
